With the official presentation in the run-up to the SRO race weekend at the VIRginia International Raceway (USA), BMW M Motorsport has rung in the sales phase of the new BMW M4 GT4, which is set to continue its predecessor’s run of success in the internationally established GT4 category as of the 2023 season. Similar to the BMW M4 GT3, it features a Fanatec GT4 illuminated steering wheel.

The car was on display with the BMW M Motorsport design for the first time on Friday, having previously successfully completed a test race in camouflage livery at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER). The new BMW M4 GT4 goes on sale with plenty of technical highlights and at a net price of 187,000 euros. Production is set to start in October 2022, to allow the first cars to be delivered to teams in time for the start of the 2023 season.

The new BMW M4 GT4 was developed to win races and titles, just like its predecessor. To this end, the latest key technologies from the production model have been combined with a range of components from its big brother, the BMW M4 GT3. The developers focused on four key areas: performance, reliability, cost efficiency and maintainability. In addition, further developments in ergonomics and electronics have considerably improved the customer experience. These include the M Track Cockpit, which makes many vehicle settings and checks possible directly via the control elements, thereby minimising the more time-consuming connection to a laptop.
After the presentation in the USA, the BMW M4 GT4 is entering the final phase of testing. This will include the car taking part in the next race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series and in the 24 Hours of Portimão (POR). Production for delivery to customers is due to start in October 2022. The net price of the BMW M4 GT4 has been set at 187,000 euros. Thanks to near- production development and the pending SRO homologation, the car can be used in all GT4 race series around the world.

Mit der offiziellen Präsentation im Vorfeld des SRO- Rennwochenendes auf dem „VIRginia International Raceway“ (USA) hat BMW M Motorsport die Verkaufsphase des neuen BMW M4 GT4 eingeläutet, der ab der Saison 2023 die Erfolgsgeschichte seines Vorgängers in der weltweit etablierten GT4-Kategorie fortschreiben soll.
Am Freitag war das Fahrzeug zum ersten Mal im BMW M Motorsport Design zu sehen, nachdem es bereits zuvor erfolgreich ein Testrennen in Tarn-Livery auf der Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER) absolviert hatte. Der neue BMW M4 GT4 geht mit vielen technischen Highlights sowie einem Nettopreis von 187.000 Euro in die Verkaufsphase. Produktionsstart ist im Oktober 2022, um die ersten Fahrzeuge rechtzeitig zum Saisonstart 2023 an die Teams liefern zu können.
„Wir haben uns der Herausforderung gestellt, einen Nachfolger für die äußerst erfolgreiche erste Generation des BMW M4 GT4 zu entwickeln“, sagt Franciscus van Meel, Geschäftsführer der BMW M GmbH. „Dazu haben wir eine große Bandbreite an detailliertem Kundenfeedback, ein erfahrenes Entwicklungsteam und die sechste Generation des BMW M4 Serienfahrzeugs als Basis kombiniert. Das Ergebnis ist ein schnellerer, noch zuverlässigerer und sehr emotionaler neuer BMW M4 GT4.
Der neue BMW M4 GT4 wurde mit dem Anspruch entwickelt, wie sein Vorgänger Rennen und Titel zu gewinnen. Dazu wurden die neuesten Schlüsseltechnologien des Serienmodells mit einer Reihe Komponenten des großen Bruders, dem BMW M4 GT3, kombiniert. Im Fokus der Entwickler standen vier Schwerpunkte: Performance, Zuverlässigkeit, Kosteneffizienz und Wartungsfreundlichkeit. Darüber hinaus sorgen Weiterentwicklungen der Ergonomie und der Elektronik für ein deutlich verbessertes Kundenerlebnis. Dazu zählt das M Track Cockpit, das viele Fahrzeugeinstellungen und -checks direkt über die Bedienelemente möglich macht und dadurch den aufwendigeren Anschluss eines Laptops minimiert.
Nach der Präsentation in den USA geht der BMW M4 GT4 in seine finale Testphase. Das Fahrzeug wird unter anderem beim nächsten Lauf der Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie und bei den 24 Stunden von Portimão (POR) am Start sein. Die Produktion für die Auslieferung an die Kunden beginnt im Oktober 2022. Der Nettopreis des BMW M4 GT4 wird bei 187.000 Euro liegen. Dank der seriennahen Entwicklung und der bevorstehenden SRO- Homologation kann das Fahrzeug weltweit in allen GT4-Rennserien eingesetzt werden.
